Does this image make you smile? Does it make you want to hurl your laptop out the window? Or do you simply recognise yourself in situations you’ve seen play out everywhere?
This post is, in its own way, an autopsy — a mildly painful one — of how we inflict inefficiency on ourselves, every single day, inside our own organisations.
Is “turn it off and back on again” really the only solution IT support has to offer? Sure, it fixes the symptom. But what about the root cause? The analysis? And that goes for every department cheerfully skewered in this infographic.
ENOUGH.
These stereotypes have become the norm because we allow them to. Because “it’s always been done this way” — and that particular brand of intellectual laziness quietly suffocates any real ambition to do better.
Everything this post pokes fun at is entirely fixable. None of it is fate.
That said, since bad habits are — regrettably — here to stay, and since the least we can do is laugh at them, let’s stop dancing around it and start naming names.
Which one do you identify with most?
I’ll admit my own sin: I find myself far too often trapped in the Software Development and Artificial Intelligence loop — where AI perpetually dangles the illusion of a magic wand.
Slightly embarrassing. But it’s the truth, and you see me posting about it every day.
What about you?
Are you a PM who lives on back-to-back calls? A Sales rep who promised the moon? An HR manager already planning the next motivational Pizza Party?
Confess in the comments. And more importantly, tell me: WHY?
Why do you keep hurting yourself — and the people around you?
